Start with a site and a crystal pillar
A useful Stormforge base starts with a crystal pillar and enough room around it for the pieces you plan to keep sheltered. You can put up a new structure or move into an abandoned village house. Plan around the pillar either way, since its radius defines the base and the shield protects that area from roaming chaos storms.
Pick a placement mode for the job
Use basic snapping as a starting point for straightforward wall and floor joins. Try advanced snapping when you need another placement option, or use free placement to overlap pieces deliberately. Round walls and floors are available from the first camp, so you can shape a small base before planning a larger layout.
Put crafting storage inside the radius
You can craft with materials from chests inside the base radius. Group your chests inside that area, especially when expanding a village house, so new storage stays within reach of the crafting system. The developer’s building spotlight also describes quick sorting and deposit for chests and free equipment repairs.
Give yourself a way home
When heading out to explore, carry the materials for a portal if you want a fast return. The building spotlight shows the idea: place a portal while out in the world, then teleport back home. Keep your most useful stations and supplies near the center of the base so you can restock without crossing the whole build.
FAQ
Do I have to build from an empty plot?
No. Stormforge also lets you move into an abandoned village house.
What determines whether chest materials are available for crafting?
Keep the chest within the radius of your crystal pillar.
Can I overlap pieces on purpose?
Yes. Free placement lets you overlap pieces for details that do not need to follow a snapped joint.
