Which Stormforge demo saves will transfer?
If you started a new character and world after the October 7 demo update, Roboto Games says those saves will carry into Early Access. The update changed the save format, so characters and worlds from before that reset required a fresh start in the updated demo. The date matters more than how far you got in the old build.
How to tell which save you have
Think back to when you created the character and world you want to continue. If you started both in the updated October demo or a later build, you’re in the group covered by the developer’s compatibility announcement. If you last played before the reset and never started over, the old character and world are outside the announced transfer scope.
| Your demo progress | What the developer announced |
|---|---|
| Character and world created after the October 7 format update | Eligible to carry into Early Access |
| Character or world from before the format update | The updated demo required a fresh start |
What to do before Early Access
If you’re returning from an older build, launch the current demo and start a new character and world there. If you’re already using the updated demo, you can keep exploring with that character and world while you wait. Read the developer’s October demo update on Steam for the original save-format announcement and the planned November 10 Early Access date.
FAQ
Do characters and worlds both carry over?
Yes. The compatibility announcement covers both character and world saves made in the updated demo.
Why did older saves need a reset?
Roboto Games changed the format to support cloud saving. That change broke compatibility with existing demo characters and worlds at the time.
Should I move files by hand?
The developer described compatibility for the updated demo saves. The announcement did not specify a manual file-copy step.
